Judaism for Adults

Rabbi Tom Gutherz will teach this survey course on the beliefs and practices of Judaism. Topics will include: Shabbat and holidays, Jewish views about God, Jewish texts and interpretation, the commandments. Jewish denominations, death, and the afterlife, sin and forgiveness. Jewish mysticism, prayer, Judaism and other faiths, Jewish history and Zionism. All in 16 weeks!

Who might enjoy this class?

  • Jews who did not pay attention when they attended Hebrew school
  • Interfaith couples who want to learn more about Judaism
  • Anyone who wants to encounter Judaism through adult eyes
  • Individuals who enjoy learning about interesting stuff 

Classes will meet on Wednesday nights from 6:00 p.m. - 7:20 p.m. in the small sanctuary. Nominal fee for materials. Register to attend by calling Lukas Holldorf at (434) 295-6382, ext. 200.
